SMS functions as the supply chain department for each of our members for all operational supply chain functions. SMS’s core competency is field to restaurant supply chain management of our Member Brand’s supply chain. SMS services focus on product sourcing, vendor and contract management, commodities management, 3rd party logistics, distribution management, LTO inventory management, and other critical customer care activities. Nevertheless, the Brands maintain the ability to determine strategic direction, define product specifications and set quality standards.
SMS management team members are actively involved with the Brand’s Marketing, R&D, and Operations departments to ensure that product quality and supply are never compromised in the pursuit of supply chain efficiencies and cost reductions. Finally, and just as important, SMS actively participates in cross-functional efforts with the Brands to identify savings opportunities, especially through vendor consolidations, vendor process improvements, specification of vendor changes, freight management programs, and distribution strategies.
